Jonathan Smith provides positive injury update ahead of MSU’s opener vs. FAU

Michigan State football will enter the 2024 season in a “relatively healthy” state.

New Spartans head coach Jonathan Smith met with the media on Monday to preview Michigan State’s season opener on Friday against Florida Atlantic. He was asked about the health of the team and he responded stating the team is “relatively healthy” — which would suggest there’s no major key injuries at this time.

Michigan State leading returning wide receiver Montorie Foster was banged up earlier in fall camp but it was reported last week that he’ll be fine to go for the season opener.

Kickoff between the Owls and Spartans is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Friday. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
