Jonathan Majors' ex-girlfriend has decided to drop her assault and defamation lawsuit against the Hollywood star after reaching a settlement. The case was dismissed with prejudice as per a joint filing in Manhattan federal court.
The lawsuit, filed by Grace Jabbari in March, accused the 35-year-old Marvel and 'Creed III' star of subjecting her to physical and verbal abuse during their relationship, including assault, battery, defamation, and infliction of emotional distress. This legal action came after Majors was convicted of misdemeanor assault and harassment in connection with an altercation in Manhattan.
During the incident, Jabbari alleged that Majors hit her head, twisted her arm, and fractured her middle finger. Majors, on the other hand, claimed that Jabbari was the aggressor and he was merely trying to retrieve his phone and leave safely.
Following the guilty verdict, Majors was dropped by Marvel Studios, losing his role as Kang the Conqueror. However, he has recently resurfaced in Hollywood, with his film 'Magazine Dreams' being acquired for theatrical release and his engagement to Meagan Good being announced at the Ebony Power 100 Gala.
Both parties have agreed to settle the lawsuit, with Jabbari's lawyer stating that the matter has been favorably resolved. The legal representatives for Majors did not provide any comments on the settlement.
Despite the tumultuous events, Grace Jabbari's attorney commended her for her courage throughout the process and expressed hope that she can now move forward with her head held high.
