After punching Jordan Poole at practice on Wednesday, Draymond Green has opted to step away from the Golden State Warriors. During his absence, sophomore forward Jonathan Kuminga will fill his place in the starting lineup for the preseason.
On Sunday evening, Kuminga will join the starting rotation for a preseason contest against the Los Angeles Lakers. On Friday, Kerr praised Kuminga’s performance during a recent scrimmage at training camp.

In Golden State’s first two preseason games against the Washington Wizards, Kuminga played 25 or more minutes in each contest. Kuminga notched six points in the preseason opener and five points in game two against the Wizards.
The Warriors will welcome the Lakers to Chase Center on Sunday night for a 5:30 p.m. PT tipoff.
