Jonathan Glazer Donates Signed Posters For Charity Auction Fundraiser

Jonathan Glazer

Jonathan Glazer, the acclaimed filmmaker behind The Zone of Interest, has made a generous contribution to the Cinema for Gaza auction by donating seven signed posters for his Oscar-winning movie and a selection of posters for his 2014 film Under the Skin. This charitable initiative aims to raise funds for the charity Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).

The auction organizers expressed their gratitude for Glazer's donations, particularly highlighting The Zone of Interest as a significant and impactful film. The posters, signed by Glazer, composer Mica Levi, and producer James Wilson, have already attracted a bid of £2750.00 ($3,462.20) with the auction scheduled to conclude on April 12.

Glazer's recent public appearance comes after his controversial 2024 Oscars acceptance speech, where he addressed the Israel-Hamas conflict, sparking both praise and criticism within the entertainment industry.

Various other U.K. entertainment figures have also contributed to the Cinema for Gaza auction. These include offerings such as a ticket to a Ramy Youssef live show with a meet-and-greet, an original Abigail’s Party poster signed by Mike Leigh, a poster and script book for The Old Oak signed by Ken Loach, and bedtime readings by Tilda Swinton and Rebecca Hall.

Additional donations have been made by Peter Capaldi, Imelda Staunton, Brian Cox, Joseph Quinn, Misan Harriman, Joanna Hogg, Aimee Lou Wood, and Josh O’Connor. The collective efforts of these individuals have resulted in the Cinema for Gaza auction raising an impressive total of £48,168 ($60,718.00) to date.
