Lille striker Jonathan David has hinted at a potential Arsenal transfer this summer after liking two of the club's social media posts on Instagram.
Arsenal technical director Edu continues to work in the background with the club eager to add further additions to Mikel Arteta's squad before the transfer deadline. The Gunners have signed five new players so far this summer, with Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner and Marquinhos all making the move to north London.
Arteta has shown he wants to add another attacker to his squad ahead of a hectic 2022/23 campaign after the club missed out on signing Raphinha from Leeds, with the Brazilian snubbing a move to the Emirates Stadium in favour of a transfer to Barcelona. football.london understands Arsenal are looking to make one or two more signings before the transfer deadline and David has hinted at a potential move to the Gunners.

This isn't the first time that the Canadian striker has hinted at a move to the north Londoners, having previously been seen wearing a Thierry Henry jumper to spark excitement on social media. Arsenal fans spotted that David liked two posts on the official Arsenal Instagram page, promoting the club's new third kit.
The Lille striker has made it no secret of his admiration for Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in the past, admitting that he frequently watched Arsenal during Arsene Wenger's reign as manager. "European clubs made me dream," he told L'Equipe last year. "I watched Barca a lot, Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal, with Henry and Patrick Vieira.
Edu met with the David's agent at the end of last year and was highly admired by certain figures within London Colney. The Brazilian could look to return to those negotiations this summer with Arteta keen to add an attacker to his squad, despite Gabriel Jesus' fine form in pre-season and Eddie Nketiah signing a contract renewal.
According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Arsenal would've had to pay a fee between €45million-€55million (£38million-£46million) to sign David in January. Since the Gunners missed out Champions League football, a move now could prove difficult despite the Canadian's admiration for the club with the Lille striker keen to play in Europe's elite club competition.
