A Wetherspoon pub described as one of the "best" in the Bristol area is still searching for a new owner. The Jolly Sailor in Hanham, on the Bristol border is still up for sale around 8 months on from when it was announced it would be closing.
Still advertised on both Rightmove, Savills estate agent is asking offers for the two-storey semi-detached building, consisting of 238 square metres, starting at around £500,000.

When it was announced that the pub was one of the many to be put up for sale, locals shared their dismay and sadness at seeing their beloved local go. Others also commented on articles put out at the time, expressing their thoughts on the situation.
One commenter said: “That is such a shame. I know it's not for everyone but you have to give Wetherspoon credit - they are people friendly company, and are not a pretentious chain. Literally anybody can go to a spoons, and anyone, well mostly, can afford a spoons.”
While another penned: “Not a fan personally, but the Spoons in general with their free refills of tea and coffee and their affordable pints do provide an outing for the cash-limited and lonely. There was and old boy who used it a few years back, only came out once or twice a week, but if it hadn't been for the Spoons, he could go weeks at a time without speaking to anyone”
As the pub is yet to be sold business is still running but when will they shut up shop for good? Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “The Jolly Sailor pub is still on the market. It will continue to operate as normal until a purchaser is found and until completion of a sale.”
The pub has a 3.9 star rating on Google and has garnered mixed reviews on Tripadvisor but one customer has given it a glowing five-star rating even calling it the "best spoons in Bristol". They praised the staff at the Jolly Sailor for their "friendly, can-do attitude" after a visit back in December.
