Central and Robinson department stores invite shoppers to contribute to their efforts to increase green space in Thailand during the “Central/Robinson Love The Earth 2023” campaign.
Launched to mark World Environment Day which falls on June 5 each year, the campaign is a collaboration with the Royal Forest Department and aims to plant 100,000 trees on 490 rai of land across the country. This will help absorb 14,347.2 tonnes of carbon dioxide and reduce the temperature by 1-2C.
For every purchase at the Home, Small Appliances and Beauty Galerie departments at any branches of Central and Robinson, shoppers will be able to register their intent to participate in the mission on the stores’ online platforms, until Monday.
Also, many environmentally-friendly activities have been arranged throughout the month. The highlight is the “Love The Earth” fair which provides space for many brands of local merchandise made from natural and waste materials for various product groups.
They include home products from Sculpture, Awa Decor, Nameco, Sonite and Hass; lifestyle products from Qualy, Paper Art and Shuter Life; beauty products from Hug; and fashion items from Carpenter, Munie, Salete and Tlejourn. The fair is running on the 1st floor, Zone I of Central at CentralWorld, until June 30.
Every branch of Central and Robinson has also come up with a creative display of various booths that are decorated with environmentally-friendly materials. They are showcased until Monday.
Those wishing to donate money in support of the Royal Forest Department’s projects to increase green space can do so through the Environmental Foundation by Central Group throughout this month.
This environmental campaign is a continuation of Central Group’s four green missions — to “say no to plastic bags” at all Central and Robinson stores; to promote the use of eco-friendly materials at all shopping malls; to provide retail space for local communities to sell their merchandise that is made from local materials and for leading brands with eco-friendly production process; and to expand green space by 50,000 rai across Thailand within 2030.
