Johnson revival could last just TWO MONTHS as Partygate probe 'passed damning evidence'

BORIS Johnson could be booted out the Number 10 door by Christmas if he gets back in due to damning new evidence about the partygate scandal, sources have suggested.

Several Conservatives familiar with the Commons Privileges Committee investigation into whether Johnson misled Parliament over parties held in Downing Street suggest the evidence - much of which has already been handed to chair Harriet Harman - will be too damaging for him to survive a second stint in office.

According to ITV News, Harman is said to be laser-focused on the advice Johnson received from Number 10 staff as revelations about parties emerged.

One source told the broadcaster: "She’s not interested in the colour – who was drinking what, was there a cake?”

The inquiry will try and establish whether there is proof Johnson was part of a cover-up when he told MPs no rules had been broken, or whether he was misled by staff himself.

One source has said Harman has already received incriminating material from inside Number 10.

Johnson has gathered the support of dozens of MPs following the resignation of Liz Truss, including Business Secretary Jacob Rees-Mogg and Defence Secretary Ben Wallace.

But many Tory MPs have vented their disgust at the suggestion he might run again, with Roger Gale going as far as to say he would quit the party if such a situation came to pass.

Johnson's dad Stanley has said he will need to see that his son is prepared to stick to the 2019 manifesto he was voted in on if he is to gain his support.
