More than a week later, Johnny Walker still has no idea what Anthony Smith was talking about.
In the middle of a mostly one-sided unanimous decision loss to Walker on May 13 at UFC on ABC 4, Smith began talking to his opponent. The audio was hard to pick up on fight night, but we now know that Smith was making a bizarre claim as the fight unfolded.
“I’m mad you attacked my family. You’re attacking my family,” Smith told Walker, who made it clear in an Instagram post that he remains utterly confused.
As far as we can tell, Walker never verbally attacked Smith’s family in the build-up to UFC on ABC 4 – at least not on the record. And if Walker would’ve physically attacked any member of Smith’s family, we’re certain that would’ve been big news.
So your guess is as good as ours in trying to figure this one out. We might never know unless Smith explains himself.
