Johnny Vegas' appearance on This Morning didn't quite go as planned which viewers may have come to expect with the down-to-earth comedian. He was on the ITV daytime show to chat to hosts Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle about his Channel 4 show.
Johnny Vegas: Carry on Glamping sees the award-winning comedian and his long-suffering assistant Bev Dixon tackle the trend of glamping, setting out to turn a collection of old derelict vehicles into a boutique hotel for Britain's glampers. And after a successful first series, it's coming back for a second.
But the interview had already got off to a tricky start when Josie was unable to grasp what Johnny was saying. Craig started the chat by saying the last time he had seen Johnny was in Dublin when he replied saying he was sharing a story before realising they were going live on the telly.

When Craig asked if it was broadcastable, Johnny said: "Yeah, It was just I ate a raw potato!" Jose looked bewildered and replied: "You ate a what?" As Johnny repeated himself, Josie appeared more confused and repeated what he said, mimicking his accent. Eventually she picked up 'raw potato' and laughed. "As you do," she said as Johnny replied: "This is how all interviews should start."
Later, Johnny, from St Helens, explained that not everything worked out how he had hoped, telling the story of how a ferry had caught on fire while transporting his new mini bus as well as a whole array of other problems.
He said: "We always said I don't want to do that show where because you're on telly everything works out for you. It doesn't, you know. And it's life isn't it?" Josie then replied, quite dead-pan: "It certainly doesn't for you." But as she began her next sentence, Johnny erupted into laughter.
Josie and Craig also burst out laughing as the mum-of-one apologised. Johnny then said: "Shall I just walk off and cry now?" before he got up and put his face into his hands as he faked sobbing noises. He didn't make it far off the set and returned to the sofa where Josie was crying with laughter and insisted: "I meant on the show!"
"That's the best thing I've ever heard in an interview," Johnny said through laughter. "'Life doesn't go to plan does it?' 'Well it doesn't for you.'" But Josie said: "I'm so sorry!" as she struggled to compose herself in order to progress with the chat. As she rolled round in fits of laughter, Craig said: "He was feeling good about himself up to that point."
And This Morning viewers certainly saw the funny side. @Charlie__Tweets tweeted: "Telly is always funnier when Johnny Vegas is on. #ThisMorning." @bethanlooms laughed: "Johnny Vegas always manages to de-rail an interview #ThisMorning." @ledcafc added: "Johnny Vegas on #ThisMorning cracks me up."
