Johnny Sexton meets up with Steph Curry as he presents NBA star with Ireland jersey

Johnny Sexton got to rub shoulders with another sporting titan earlier today as he shared a few photos he took with NBA megastar Steph Curry.

The pair were indeed 'shoulder to shoulder' as they linked up in an IRFU gym.

Despite playing vastly different sports, you'd imagine they could relate on a lot of levels as they are both still star playmakers who are the main focus of opponents' defensive game plans despite now being well into their 30s.

As well as his on-court exploits, Curry is also one of the most well-respected sports figures in American sports as he is a model professional who has also proven himself as a great leader when times get tough.

He said: "What a way to start a Monday morning…..absolute legend in the sporting world but one of the most humble people I have ever met."

The 34-year-old's arrival to Ireland was first noted by stunned onlookers at Dalkey cafe The Corner Note as he posed for photos with staff and customers alike.

While Curry continues to enjoy his off-season, Sexton and Leinster get their new season underway on Saturday with a trip to face Zebre in the URC.
