Johnny Depp unrecognisable as he shaves signature beard and moustache after decades

Johnny Depp looks almost unrecognisable after shaving off his famous beard.

The Hollywood actor, 59, unveiled his brand-new clean-shaven look while on tour with his friend and award-winning musician Jeff Beck, after the pair played a show in New York City.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor looked noticeably different from his appearances in the courtroom a number of months ago amid his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard.

Johnny is now sporting a clean-shaven look - after famously rocking his signature moustache and facial hair for decades.

Following his latest show in New York City, Johnny was seen wearing blue striped baker boy hat and large blue tinted sunglasses, which covered most of his face.

As fans waited outside to greet the Hollywood star, they could have been forgiven for mistaking the famous actor for someone else due to the drastic change in appearance his clean-shaven look has given him.

The actor signed autographs, chatted with fans, and beamed in photos as he posed alongside the adoring admirers who waited at length to meet him following his latest performance with music legend Jeff Beck.

His new look comes after news broke that the bombshell defamation trial between Johnny and Amber Heard is now the subject of a new movie which is due for release in just a matter of weeks.

The film - which is entitled Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial - will follow the tumultuous relationship between the Pirates of the Caribbean star and his ex-wife, both in and out of court.

It is set to debut exclusively on the free Tubi streaming service on September 30.

The film stars Days of Our Lives actor Mark Hapka as Depp and former American Horror Story actress Megan Davis as Heard. Melissa Marty will portray Depp’s lawyer Camille Vasquez and Marry Carrig will play Heard’s counsel Elaine Bredehoft.

In a statement, Adam Lewinson – Tubi’s chief content officer – said: "Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial has Hot Take in the title for a reason.

"With our partners at MarVista, this Tubi Original was fast-tracked into production to capture a timely take on a story that became part of the cultural zeitgeist, painting a unique picture of what millions watched play out in the headlines over the summer."

Depp successfully sued his ex-wife for defamation over an op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018, in which she discussed her experiences with domestic abuse.

Although he wasn’t named in the article, Depp’s lawyers argued that it implied he was violent towards 36-year-old Heard during their relationship, which he has vehemently denied.

The trial concluded on June 1, with the jury ruling in Depp's favour. He was awarded $8 million of the $50 million he sought in damages.

Meanwhile, Aquaman actress Heard won one of her counter claims and was given $2 million of the $100 million countersuit.
