Johnny Depp has confirmed the release of yet another new single alongside Jeff Beck called The Death and Reassurection Show.

The 59-year-old actor, who has started to gradually revive a music career, confirmed on July 7 that the new track is now available to listen to.

The song, a cover of the 2003 track by British rock band Killing Joke, is currently available on Spotify alongside several other tracks that Depp and Beck collaborated on.

Sharing the news of the single’s release with his 26.6 million Instagram followers, Depp unveiled an Instagram story earlier on Thursday that featured a snippet of the song alongside the announcement.

Beck similarly shared the cover of the duo’s upcoming album, 18, consisting of 13 tracks and is expected to be released on July 15.

Depp and Beck had first performed The Death and Reassurection Show in public at London’s Royal Hall two months ago.

The duo are understood to have first met around 2016 and have been collaborating on music together ever since.

They have already performed several shows together before starting to work on an album of covers as well as two original tracks written by Depp.

The pair’s latest single comes one month after the Pirates of the Carribbean actor unveiled several other tracks from the upcoming album.

Fans can now listen toThis Is A Song For Miss Hedy Lamarr as well as Caroline, No and Venus in Furs.

He had also previously collaborated with Beck on the 2020 track Isolation.

Speaking about choosing a name for the upcoming album, Beck said: “When Johnny and I started playing together, it really ignited our youthful spirit and creativity. We would joke about how we felt 18 again, so that just became the album title too.”

News of Depp’s latest music comes a little over a month after he won his multimillion-dollar US defamation lawsuit against former wife Amber Heard, 36.

Depp sued Aquaman star Heard for 50 million dollars over a 2018 op-ed she wrote in the Washington Post, titled: “I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.”

The jury found in favour of Heard who said she was defamed by Depp’s lawyer when he called her abuse allegations a hoax in a countersue claim.

Earlier this week, it was revealed Heard’s legal team has now filed a 43-page motion with the court in Virginia in a bid to overturn the verdict after a jury found she had libeled her ex-husband in an article.

They argue the verdict was flawed and question the validity of the jury which heard the case.
