Johnny Depp in loving tribute to daughter Lily-Rose on tour amid The Idol controversy

Johnny Depp has paid a special tribute to his to his daughter Lily-Rose on stage with his American rock supergroup The Hollywood Vampires during their European tour.

The famous actor-turned-rockstar, 60, showed his love and support for his daughter at the London O2 Arena wearing a stylish navy blue blazer with 'Lily-Rose' embroidered in white cursive onto the front right of the jacket. The smart-looking blazer was also covered in skulls, an anchor, a cross, and various other scribbled quotes.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star wore his fashionable custom jacket over a striped navy blue vest pairing the outfit with black pants and edgy accessories including a distressed white fedora hat, a red bandana, many chains, necklaces, a plethora of rings, and his signature black eyeliner.

Formed in 2012, The Hollywood Vampires are a rock group consisting of musicians Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, and Warlock guitarist Tommy Henriksen. The name was inspired by a celebrity drinking club that was formed by Cooper in the 1970s with members including John Lennon and Ringo Starr of the Beatles, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon of the Who, and Micky Dolenz of the Monkees. The hazing to get initiated into the exclusive club was to be able to outdrink all the members.

The sweet homage to his daughter during his latest performance comes after her latest role in the popular series The Idol on HBO. The controversial series has already received backlash from fans, claiming the show was "cringey" and "off-putting" and that the creator of the show Sam Levinson, former Euphoria director, turned the show into "torture porn and rape fantasy." USA Today also contributed, describing the show as "sexist, gratuitous, exploitative...and achingly boring."

Despite negative reviews, actor Johnny continues to publicly root on his daughter. A source close to Johnny told the Daily Mail that he is "unfazed" by the backlash and "believes she must be doing something right to have gained so much attention."

In the graphic HBO series, Lily-Rose plays the character Jocelyn, an aspiring pop star involved in a toxic relationship with Tedros, a mysterious club owner, played by pop singer The Weeknd. In the sexually-charged episodes Jocelyn has already been seen topless, in a seductive masturbation scene, and having a nervous breakdown on screen.

The source close to Johnny adds that: "Johnny loves that Lily is carving out a career of her own and challenging herself to take on roles that interest her and test her."

The Hollywood Vampires will be continuing to take the stage with their talented guitarist and supportive father Johnny for the rest of the summer including upcoming shows in Birmingham and Glasgow. And on this European tour the band will also be accompanied by famous special guests Seether and The Tubes.
