John Travolta shared a video from the cockpit of one of his private planes as took to the skies for a solo flight.
The 66-year-old actor has been a licensed pilot since he was 22 years old, and is well-known as a collector of aviation memorabilia and actual aircrafts.
In a short video shared with his 2.5 million Instagram followers, Travolta showed himself flying high above the clouds.
“It’s always exciting to get back in here again!” he wrote in the caption.
Travolta's home just outside of Ocala, Florida includes a private runway and taxiway, plus two outbuildings for covered access to planes.
“It's always exciting to get back in the air again, so here I am celebrating,” Travolta said, while turning the camera to show off the view from up high.
Travolta was inducted into the Living Legends of Aviation in 2007, and has also written a book called Propeller One-Way Night Coach, about a young boy taking his first flight.
In another Instagram photo posted last Thursday, Travolta threw back to a picture from more than 50 years ago.
He wrote: “Throwback Thursday: When I was 15 years old, my school offered an aviation class which started my second career.”
Travolta is known for starring in Get Shorty, Pulp Fiction, Grease, and more recently last year’s film The Fanatic.
American channel CBS confirmed that, in place of the cancelled Tony Awards due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, the network will air a sing-along version of the classic musical Grease.
