John Terry sends two-word message to Chelsea ahead of Carabao Cup final with Liverpool

John Terry has issued a two-word message to his former club Chelsea on social media ahead of their Carabao Cup final showdown with Liverpool.

The former Blues captain, who won the League Cup three times playing for the west London club, took to Twitter to simply say "good luck", with a picture of him posing with the trophy next to Gary Cahill.

The tweet came around an hour later from Terry changing his profile picture on the social media platform, to a photo of him with the Premier League trophy during his Chelsea playing days.

It is not clear yet whether Terry will be in attendance at Wembley for this afternoon's final, but the former England international will be no doubt supporting his old club either way.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel was asked earlier in the week if Liverpool being slight favourites to lift the cup actually helps his Blues team, and insisted the squad were confident in their own abilities.

"I don't know but maybe 51% or 55% they are the favourites because of recent form and results. But we all know, like when we were favourites against Lille, that they would play to their full level, that they will play the role of underdog and will not accept it as a disadvantage.

"Neither do we. We have things to trust on and have experienced tight, tight matches against Liverpool. I think the last three were all draws but that will not happen at Wembley. We will find a winner somehow and we know very well what it takes to have a tough match against them.

"We are confident we have everything it takes and we have to show it. I think it's the same for them and it will be nice to have a match like this in the final."

Tuchel will be hoping to secure his fourth trophy since joining Chelsea over 12 months ago, with the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup already in the bag.
