John Terry joins in with Chelsea chant as fans spot him in Liverpool away end

John Terry has thanked Chelsea fans for their support after sitting in the away end during their game against Liverpool on Saturday.

The Blues played out a goalless draw at Anfield that did little to improve their Premier League prospects. Graham Potter's side are 10th in the table - 10 points behind Manchester United in fourth. Jurgen Klopp's team are also 10 points adrift of United.

Although Saturday's match will not be remembered as a classic, Terry still had fun in the away end. The Blues legend joined in with his famous "Double" chant on the concourse and took to Instagram to write about his experience with the travelling supporters.

"I loved being in the away end with our supporters today," wrote Terry alongside photos and videos of his trip to Anfield. "As a player. you arrive on the bus and head straight to the dressing room, you don’t get to see or feel what the fans feel.

"When I retired I always wanted to be in the away end with our supporters and I absolutely loved it today. A huge thank you to all our supporters who travel the world supporting our great club. I f****** love you all, Chelsea. Double, Double Double..."

A video of Terry being mobbed by Chelsea fans signing his song has also gone viral on social media. Terry retweeted the video and wrote: "Chelsea away... What a day and great experience to be in the away end with our supporters."

Terry came through the ranks at Chelsea and played more than 700 senior games for the club. The former England captain won the "Double" - the Premier League title and FA Cup - under Carlo Ancelotti during the 2009/10 campaign, among other trophies.

Terry's "Double" chant is a reference to that success and also mocks Tottenham's lack of silverware since. It goes: "Double, Double, Double - John Terry has won the Double. And the s*** from the Lane, have won f*** all again. As John Terry has won the Double..."

Although Terry has won the "Double", Potter's side will not achieve that feat this season. Their hopes of winning the Premier League title are in tatters and they've also been dumped out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

Chelsea, who are the biggest spenders in Europe since Todd Boehly's consortium completed a takeover last summer, must win the Champions League to ensure they don't finish the season without silverware. They face Borussia Dortmund in the last 16.

Although Chelsea are enduring a tough time, the signing Mykhaylo Mudryk has given fans a reason to be cheerful. The Blues recently defeated Arsenal in the race for the Ukraine international's signature and he produced a stellar display on debut at Anfield.

"He's not played football for a while, he's been on a mid-season break," Potter told BT Sport when asked about Mudryk's 35-minute cameo on Saturday. "We had to manage his minutes, but you can see his quality."
