John Terry has insisted Chelsea need to drastically improve on their recent form after drawing 1-1 with West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.
The point for the Blues at the London Stadium means it is just the one win from their past eight matches with Graham Potter's side sitting down in ninth-place. Chelsea are 10 points behind Newcastle United, who occupy fourth-place in the Premier League table.
Despite taking a 1-0 lead against West Ham, thanks to Joao Felix's lovely volley in the first-half, the Hammers secured a point when former Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri scored on 28 minutes. There were calls for a Chelsea penalty after Conor Gallagher's shot appeared to hit Tomas Soucek's arm, but nothing was given.

Terry was doing a Q&A session on his official Instagram page and the former Blues captain was asked whether he had anything to do with Potter's appointment in September. However, Terry was quick to point out that was not the case at all.
"Absolutely not," Terry replied on his Instagram story. "I tweeted that I loved watching Brighton play this style of play. I have nothing to do with the first-team.
"I'm working with the Under 18s and 21s and love my role. Clearly results are not good enough and we need to get a settled team."
Chelsea made an incredible eight signings last month in the mid-season transfer window, so it is somewhat accepted that the side are in transition at the moment. Potter, though, when asked about Saturday's performance, said it was a positive step despite being unable to pick up three points.
"I felt today was a step forward," Potter said after the game. "Performance-wise started the game well.
"You're always rocked by the goal because that's football and something for us to learn from and do better with. Overall, a step forward to the week that we've used. We've had a good training week but when it's not reflected in three points, there's always stuff you can do better."
"It's a challenge [for all the new signings to gel] but it's my job," the Chelsea head coach continued. "It's exciting, it tests you because you have to make sure you communicate properly and manage the environment because otherwise it can go not very positive.
"The week has been a really good training week, spirit in the group is really good, not just the team. They know what it is, they're not stupid. There's big competition for places.
"We need healthy competition, we need training to be better and better because that's how you improve. Then you just have to have honest conversations and respect the fact players will be disappointed because that's normal.
"It would be strange if it wasn't. These are top professionals, top people, they handle themselves well."
