A lucky bidder will soon get the opportunity to give peas a chance in an old fridge-freezer that used to belong to John Lennon - as it's set to go up for auction later this week.
The kitchen appliance is said to have been installed in the Beatles member's mansion Kenwood in Weybridge, Surrey, in 1968 - with it still working more than five decades later.
It has been described by auctioneers who are selling it as the Rolls-Royce of fridges, ahead of it being up for grabs at auction tomorrow alongside other memorabilia.
The fridge-freezer is tipped to fetch up to £2,000 when it goes under the hammer at Omega Auctions in Newton-le-Willows, located in Merseyside, tomorrow.
Discussing the appliance, the auctioneers have described it as "unique" and stated that it is the "most collectable household item" that they have ever offered for sale.
They commented: "This incredible and unique item that was originally bought by John Lennon when they lived in their Kenwood home was the Rolls Royce of fridges."
It is said to have a freezer compartment at the top with a large fridge space below. The appliance includes the original metal drawers, ice cube trays and even instructions.
The auctioneers said: "This is certainly the most collectable household item we have ever offered for sale. As well as the excellent provenance, it's quite a stylish fridge too."
The vendor is understood to have bought the fridge from a subsequent owner of the Kenwood estate - which is said to have boasted six bedrooms - for just £80.
It isn't the only piece of Beatles memorabilia up for sale at the upcoming auction in Merseyside - as it is just one of 242 lots that are related to the popular band.
