John Kennedy has told Celtic he wants to leave the club and join Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham, according to a report.
The Hoops have been facing a battle to keep the long-serving coach, plus Gavin Strachan and analyst Greg Wallace after watching their manager join Spurs. A hunt for a new manager is underway in Glasgow but now Kennedy could be set to leave after 13 years as a coach at the club he was also a player at say the Scottish Daily Mail.
Postecoglou turned down the offer of a contract extension at Celtic in favour of the Premier League challenge but his former side "are digging in their heels" as they are "reluctant to lose another key member of the management team". There is currently no Spurs backroom team in place and the man their new gaffer wants as number two is "wary of finding himself out of a job if Postecoglou’s replacement brings in his own backroom team" and has now "asked Celtic to let him go and sign his own four-year contract with Spurs."
The 38-year-old was a player for 10 years at Celtic. But injury soon ended his stint short and the club offered him a route into coaching alongside a testimonial.
