John Kavanagh recalls 'being humiliated with a bad beating' as he shares emotional post after memorable Brazil UFC 283 victory

John Kavanagh shared an emotional post after Johnny Walker's victory on Saturday.

Kavanagh has worked with Walker for the past few years and was in his corner for UFC 283 in Brazil.

The Brazilian won by decision against Scotland's Paul Craig to take his professional record to 20-7.

And Kavanagh posted about his journey with Walker and his own journey in MMA.

He said on Instagram: "As a 19 yr old kid, after being humiliated with a bad beating on the street, I came across @ufc 1 and my life was nudged onto a new path.

"Inspired by the brave @realroyce I devoted myself to the practice of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA. After some ups and a lot of downs I get to visit Brazil for the first time almost 30 years later in the corner of an uber talented Brazilian fighter, @johnnywalker , who moves into the top 10 with a first round TKO over a BJJ specialist.

"During this training camp I was his best man, he was at my wedding the following week. We're both married to nordies and I believe this story will include a championship belt.

"Whatever difficulty you're going thru right now….think for a moment it may be just the event that nudges you onto a successful path. Whatever else, keep going."

And Walker responded to Kavanagh's post, saying: "Let’s go to the next step"

While Brendan Loughnane said: "Great job coach"
