John Harbaugh says Ravens offensive line starters won’t be decided before preseason opener

You can start counting down the days until the first preseason game. The Baltimore Ravens will take on the Philadelphia Eagles on August 9, in the preseason opener for both teams.

Before the start of training camp, head coach John Harbaugh said he would like to have his first-team offensive line decided upon ahead of the opening preseason game.

That would be ideal, as you want to give your starting five as much time as possible to play and gel together. This is especially true this season when the position group replaces three of those five starting positions.

Harbaugh said at practice on Friday that his team might not reach that goal. But he added that it’s not the end of the world if they can’t get it sorted by then.

“We would love for that (Aug. 9) to be the case,” Harbaugh said.

“Is that unrealistic? I don’t know, maybe, but that’s the best-case scenario. I don’t necessarily expect it to be the case.

“The game is a big deal. So if you go into that first week with a good idea and the game confirms everything, then you feel great in a good spot.

As it stands right now, your starting offensive line probably looks like this:

LT-  Ronnie Stanley

LG-  Andrew Voorhees

C-  Tyler Linderbaum,

RG-  Ben Cleveland

RT-  Roger Rosengarten, although there is some buzz about Daniel Faalele, who could usurp Rosengarten for the starting gig.

It is worth mentioning that this is all highly subject to change, especially as the season progresses and the inevitability of injuries kicks in.
