John Cena Sent Message to Iowa’s Caitlin Clark After Elite Eight Celebration

Iowa’s Caitlin Clark has been the star of the women’s NCAA tournament, highlighted by a 40-point triple-double on Sunday night against Louisville, the first of its kind in any NCAA tournament game. That stat line included eight three-pointers in 39 minutes of play, helping lead the Hawkeyes to a Final Four appearance.

The star guard obviously was feeling her success, as she celebrated her sixth three-pointer of the game with John Cena’s “you can’t see me” gesture. Well, Cena took note of Clark’s celebration, and tweeted at her in praise.

“Even if they could see you…they couldn’t guard you!” he said on Twitter.

Clark now has totaled at least 22 points and eight assists in each of her four games in this year’s NCAA tournament, including two double-doubles and the historic triple-double. Her next matchup is in Dallas on Friday night against undefeated South Carolina, which owns arguably the best defense in the country.

That game will draw a large number of viewers, and that may include Cena now that Clark has, successfully, borrowed his signature hand gesture.
