John Bishop ditches 27ft boat due to family rows and not knowing how to dock it

John Bishop bought a 27ft yacht after making money but said he ditched it when his family abandoned ship.

The comedian, 55, said the saga began in Majorca after he arranged to meet footie pal Jamie Redknapp.

But Bishop’s furious family ended up having to abandon ship by jumping overboard and waded neck deep through the water carrying all their drinks and food.

He said: “We get to this harbour and I can’t get in. I’m going round in circles.

“Everyone jumped off up to their neck in the water, carrying the hamper and all that stuff. Jamie, the beautiful people, are looking at us. My missus is going, ‘You’re a d**khead’.”

John Bishop has shared an hilarious anecdote about his brief stint as a boat owner (ITV)

Speaking on the Tony Bellew Is Angry podcast, he added: “You know when you’re a couple and the row just carries on all day.

“So I phoned the fella up at Abersoch. I said ‘right you can have this boat back, I don’t want it, I feel it’s just causing murder in our house’.

“So he said ‘alright, but it will have to come back to Abersoch’.

“I got it sent back to Abersoch, he got it in Abersoch, opened the back of it - there were six illegal immigrants hiding in the back of the boat.

Honest to god. The boat was cursed.”

Bishop has been married to his wife Melanie for nearly 30 years. The couple tied the knot in 1993 and have three sons.
