Actor Joey Lawrence and his wife Samantha Cope have announced that they are expecting their first child together.
The couple got married in an intimate outdoor ceremony in California in May and the good news continued following their announcement on Wednesday evening.
Lawrence, 46, best known for playing Joey Russo in Blossom and Joe Longo in Melissa & Joey, already has two teenage children with ex-wife Chandie Yawn-Nelson, who he was married to for 15 years.
He filed for divorce in July 2020 before Lawrence met Cope, 35, on the set of film My Husband's Secret Brother, which was directed by his brother Andrew. Joey and Samantha confirmed their engagement in August 2021.
It will be the Organized Killer actress' first child and Joey was beaming when he shared the baby news on his Instagram page to his 264,000 followers.
He captioned the post: "The blessings just keep on coming. Proud of you babe! Baby Lawrence on the way!"
In the post, the happy couple are posing on a beach where Cope is in a patterned bikini with her left arm in the air while Joey, in swimming shorts and a white vest, is cradling her blossoming baby bump.
Cope replied to the post, saying: "Ohh hi baby daddy," followed by a smiling face with three hearts emoji and two red love hearts.
Cope also shared the news on her private Instagram account with a reel of reactions from their loved ones after the couple revealed they were expecting their first child together.
She captioned the post: "It’s been fun getting to know you so far little one! We are so blessed!"
“It just feels so right. Life can be challenging at times, but when God gives you the right person, it’s worth it," he told People at the time of the couple's wedding in May.
“When you meet the right person, if you’re lucky enough, it cuts to the chase so quick,” he added. “I have somebody who is like-minded and has the same love language and we communicate the same way. That’s super important. And I am so thankful.”
The May ceremony was the third time Joey got married, having previously been married to Michelle Vella between 2002 and 2005 and Yawn-Nelson between 2005 and 2022 - the latter's divorce was finalised in February.
