Joey Essex left shaken after raiders ransack his £3million home while he's out with pals

Joey Essex has been left 'horrified and shaken' after raiders ransacked his £3million pad.

The former TOWIE star's home was raided while he was out with friends, and it was only when the reality TV star returned home that he was faced with the horrific ordeal.

As soon as he arrived to his luxurious pad, Joey realised that one of the window's was cracked open.

Acting on his intuition, the Celebs Go Dating star immediately called the police to his Essex home.

Police have since confirmed they were investigating a break-in at a four-bed property in Chigwell, Essex.

Speaking to The Sun, a source revealed that Joey now feels 'unsafe' in his home and is 'shaken' by the frightening ordeal.

“Joey realised what had happened as soon as he got home with James Benwith, a friend of his," the insider told.

“Thieves had thoroughly ransacked the place. Joey was horrified and very shaken. It’s made him feel unsafe in the home.

“The only thing to be grateful for is he was out when it happened.”

Joey has lived in his beloved Essex mansion since 2014 after he forked out a whopping £1.6 million for it.

According to The Sun, police said they were investigating a suspected forced entry at the house.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish whether anything was taken," a spokesperson told the publication.

Joey, who recently appeared on I'm A Celebrity Australia, often shares glimpses from the inside of his lavish Essex pad on social media.

The former TOWIE star often hosts extravagant gatherings and parties at his home which boasts a huge outdoor swimming pool and an array of palm trees in the property's sprawling garden.

Joey's break-in comes after the reality TV star's salary for his stint on I'm A Celebrity Australia was revealed.

The much-loved Essex heartthrob headed down under to appear on the Aussie version and is rumoured to have been paid upward of $400,000 (around £200,000) for taking part in all the creepy crawley-fuelled capers the show has to offer.

Fans of the show will recall Joey famously took part in the 2013 series of the UK version of the show where he finished fourth.

Sources told Daily Mail Australia that Joey was one of the first celebrities to seal a deal and producers at Channel 10 had no problems signing off the hefty pay cheque.

"They needed star power and Joey was able to negotiate a three-figure deal upwards of $400,000," the insider claimed.

The former TOWIE star was reportedly the highest paid celebrity from this year's camp, followed by Nathan Buckley who earned $300,000 for his stint on the show.

The Mirror has reached out to Joey's representatives for comment on this story.
