Bristol Rovers manager Joey Barton says new arrival Jevani Brown will add another dimension to the Gas after they completed the signing of the former Exeter City forward.
Brown has signed a two-year contract with the option of a further 12 months at the Mem after his agreement with the Grecians expired. The 28-year-old is due to stand trial on July 7 after pleading not guilty to assaulting a woman and has previously admitted a second charge of assault relating to a different woman.
Brown met his new teammates in the Rovers squad as they returned back for pre-season training at The Quarters on Monday and could be involved for their opening friendly of the summer against Melksham Town on Friday.
Barton said: "Jevani is an exciting talent. He can operate across the midfield and forward areas and will bring another dimension to our team. I am looking forward to welcoming him into our group and seeing him in action for the club."
Brown joins centre-back James Wilson and winger Luke Thomas as new arrivals in BS7 Barton begins to build on his squad from last season with Rovers targeting a promotion challenge after finishing 17th in 2022/23.
The 28-year-old didn’t play for Exeter after his arrest on February 2 but continued to train with the first-team squad before his release. Brown was enjoying a career-best season with 14 goals and nine assists in 30 games across all competitions and was also named Exeter’s Player of the Year.
