Joelinton believes success at Newcastle United will take time but is aware of the pressure that playing for the club brings. The expectation levels at the Magpies has risen dramatically in the last 12 months following the takeover and significant investment in a number of top players.
After such a positive second half of last season – which took Newcastle from 19th on New Year's Day to an 11th-place finish – Eddie Howe’s side have managed just two wins so far this term. Though Newcastle have only lost once, there is no doubt the club would’ve anticipated a quicker start.
That said, Magpies midfielder Joelinton insists Newcastle are on the right track to where they want to get to but acknowledges the sort of pressure playing for a ‘big club’ brings.

Speaking on Newcastle’s YouTube channel, he said: “I don’t think you can change a club in one season, or one year, it takes time. We need to work on a lot of things, build a team to give them the good support to work. It takes time but I think we are in a good way and we are going to be good in the right moment.
“I think we always have the pressure when we play football and when you play for a big club like Newcastle the pressure is always there. Of course we as players, and myself, I always put pressure on me to play well, keep improving and we always pressure to be better because we have to win games and we’ve lost a few chances to get more points on the table.”
