It feels like we haven’t gotten an elite troll job from Joel Embiid in years. At least not like early Embiid. He’s sort of chilled on trolling as he’s gotten deeper into his career.
But for Ben Simmons? Nah, you know Embiid had to come with it. And so he did. He tweeted out this savage meme of the guy who posted on Instagram years ago that he attended the funeral of his worst enemy to make sure he was actually dead.
First of all, that’s a pretty wild thing to do. But the internet is grateful that the dude did it because it’s made for a pretty great meme through all these years. And Embiid pulled it out at the perfect time with the James Harden trade.
He was asked about it after the Sixers game against the Thunder and his explanation was just as good as the meme itself.
Basically, he claims he just like the way the dude was dressed. Which…Joel. We know better, bro. Good try, though.
Joel Embiid on his viral tweet once the Ben Simmons trade happened:
"I just saw the picture on the internet. I thought he was well-dressed, he had a nice suit on, good-looking. He had some swag, I thought it was a good picture" pic.twitter.com/UoVFVoeW3N

“I just saw the picture on the internet. I thought he was well-dressed. He had a nice suit on. Good-looking. He had some swag. So I just thought it was a good picture.”
HILARIOUS. My guy can’t even get through his explanation without laughing about it. This is just brilliant.
The internet got a good laugh out of this one.
