Joel Dommett shares new identity clues and The Masked Singer's backstage secrets

Joel Dommett gets to stand closer to the stars of The Masked Singer than anyone. But he struggles to guess the acts like viewers and also says the judges slip up a few more times during the rest of the series.

Show host Joel said: "Someone very close to the panel is in one of the costumes and they don’t guess it."

Here is his verdict on the remaining seven singers and a few clues to who could be behind the masks…

Doughnuts

When they sang Spice Up Your Life it was one of my favourite ever performances. The crowd were cheering and laughing and they were having the time of their life. It is good for the future of the show cos people will realise you don’t have to be the best singer, it is about enjoying yourself.

The presenter also credits Mushroom with having a strong singing voice (ITV)

This person in the costume did it for their kids and it is really cool they did the show knowing they aren’t the greatest singer. I am a big fan of this person.

Mushroom

They tried hard to cover up their voice and almost sacrificed their voice to make sure they got through and didn’t get discovered early on in the first episodes. They were not comfortable.

They get through and then wow us with this insane song. One of the best voices we have ever had and I would like the head as a lampshade in my lounge.

Whoever is behind Rockhopper's mask is 'a joy' to work with (ITV)

Rockhopper

They would get quite emotional after the songs. It was strange consoling and hugging a penguin. It is a very exciting show person inside there.

Super professional and everyone on production said they were a joy to work with.

Robobunny

Almost unanimously everyone’s favourite costume from the beginning. It felt like they were taking it to another level in the third series.

They have a hole in the armpit you could see up, so I was trying to bend and look up to see if I could see a shadow of a nose. I couldn’t get it, I had no idea the whole way through.

Traffic Cone's lack of spatial awareness can worry Joel at times (ITV)

Traffic Cone

He has no sense of spatial awareness. I would have to constantly guiding a traffic cone around the stage to get them on their spot because they would edge towards the end of the stage and I worried they were going to fall on a nine-year-old.

When Traffic Cone sits down the joy in the room is ridiculous, it is the stupidest thing I have been involved in but I love it.

Panda

The fact I could hug Panda, I feel like the whole nation is jealous of me, it is amazing. I loved hugging him every single episode.

Firework

They were so great. I looked at the costume thinking my wife Hannah would love that dress and could wear it to a party without the mask bit. Hannah or my friends could be behind the masks and I wouldn’t know 100%. I am so bad at guesses, I do really try but I’m glad I host the show as I would give terrible answers.
