Joe Worrall sends special message to Nottingham Forest fans after brilliant Wembley atmosphere

Captain Joe Worrall has thanked Nottingham Forest fans for their part in helping to get the club back to the Premier League.

The Reds have been backed in huge numbers this season, both home and away, while the City Ground atmosphere has been goosebump-inducing on so many occasions. And the show of support was brilliant again as Steve Cooper’s side triumphed at Wembley.

More than 36,400 Forest supporters made the trip to the capital and celebrated in style as Huddersfield Town were beaten 1-0 to end a 23-year exile from the top-flight. Boyhood fan Worrall is well aware just what that achievement means to so many.

"Did you hear the fans? I mean, come on. They are absolutely fantastic,” said the defender

"I love our fans. They are really, really good. They travel in numbers. They're very passionate.

“They understand the players. The connection between the players and fans has been miles apart in seasons gone by. Now, it's very, very tightly-knit.

"A lot of them come to the training ground. We have regular conversations with fan forum groups.

"Shoutout to Forza Garibaldi, Rogues Gallery, the supporters’ groups and all the people who put on the displays and do the photos and murals for us players. It doesn't go unnoticed.

"They've been fantastic. They've been behind us every single step of the way.

"Football is won in strange places. They are definitely a contribution to why we are back.

“You walked out at Wembley and there was a sea of red. It would have absolutely killed me if we’d lost, because, not only us, not only the manager, the fans so deserve it. I’m just so, so pleased for them.

"Instead of watching Quest, we'll be on Match of the Day. It's fantastic. We're made up. Nottingham Forest are in the Premier League. Sounds great to say.”
