Joe Wicks responds to edited Loose Women clip that shows Carol McGiffin 'disliking' him

Joe Wicks has responded to the viral Loose Women clip that appeared to show panellist Carol McGiffin slating him.

The video showing panellists on the ITV talk show as the credits began to roll - which turned out to have been dubbed - attracted attention earlier this week after it was posted on TikTok.

The video has now prompted a response from Wicks - who became a household name at the start of the Covid pandemic thanks to virtual PE sessions that he ran amid school closures.

It appears to show McGiffin, 61, sharing her opinion of Wicks, 36, - known as the Body Coach - though it's fake. She is heard saying in the dubbed clip: "I really don't like him."

Making light of the situation, he posted the edited video on his Instagram Story and shared two selfies alongside it which showed him grimacing in response.

The dubbed video shows Ruth Langsford, 61, revealing that Wicks will join the women as a guest on the ITV talk show the following day, as the camera pans across her co-stars.

She comments in the clip: "Tomorrow, we've got the nation's PE teacher Joe Wicks, who is going to be warming us up, stopping by for a natter. Have a lovely afternoon."

Regular panellist McGiffin, is then heard responding in the manipulated footage, telling co-star Linda Robson, 63: "I really don't like him. I don't like him. Don't like him."

The edited clip has been viewed more than a million times on the social media platform. A number of viewers responded to the footage, with many believing it was real.

It has however since been reported that the clip - which was uploaded earlier this week - has been dubbed by a viewer of Loose Women, which airs weekdays on ITV.

It comes as Wicks is promoting his new book, Feel Good Food - which is set to be released on March 17 this year. He shared a sneak peak of this on social media yesterday.

He wrote: "The recipes in this book are all delicious and so simple to make. It's all about making food which gives you energy, lifts your mood and has you and your family feeling fantastic."

"I hope you love it as much as I do. As always, thanks for your support with everything," he concluded the recent post, which included a video of him showing the book cover.
