Joe Wicks defends pic of baby daughter Leni dangling from push up bar at outdoor gym

Joe Wicks has defended a picture of his seven month old baby dangling from a push up bar at an outdoor gym.

The fitness guru, 37, was hit with criticism after fans were left baffled by the photo Joe shared while on a family holiday to Santa Monica, California.

The Body Coach stopped off at the beach gym with his wife Rosie, 32, and their three children - Indie, four, Marley, three, and Leni, seven months.

In one imaged shared on Instagram, baby Leni hung onto the metal bar, seemingly showing off an impressive display of strength as dad Joe looked on.

Yet Joe was soon slammed in the comments by concerned followers.

"Is that safe for her shoulders and joints to hang onto bars supporting her own weight like that?," asked one person.

Another added: "Please don’t do that to your baby", while someone else said: "Is that a normal thing to do with baby....nope".

"Is that even possible a baby that age being able to hang from monkey bars though?!," commented a fourth.

However, some fans praised the young gym-goer: "That first picture of Leni is amazing!!! You need to recreate that every year!!!"

"Leni skills. I don’t know if I should be worried or impressed. Gorgeous family," wrote someone else.

Joe seemed to defend his decision by choosing to post a similar throwback snap on his Instagram stories.

The gym fan took an image of a framed photograph which saw him and his two eldest children hang from a push-up bar at a beach.

Indie and Marley appeared content as they smiled alongside their father, in the precarious position.

Joe and Rosie welcomed their baby Leni in September last year and announced the news on social media.

They shared a sweet snap of the baby and wrote: "It’s a girl! Rosie gave birth at 4.32am this morning at home to an 8lb healthy baby in the birthing pool.

"Thank you to Emily & Helen our wonderful midwives who where there every step of the way. Time to rest now. Lots of love the Wicks family."

Joe had shared the entire family cooing over the baby as they sat in their living room.
