UFC colour commentator and popular podcast host Joe Rogan admits he still has one question about Tom Aspinall. Rogan has questioned what Aspinall will be like once he goes into the second round ahead of potential Jon Jones UFC Heavyweight Title fight in 2025.
Joe Rogan Questions Tom Aspinall Ahead Of Potential Jon Jones Clash
When it comes to MMA, few people know more than Joe Rogan. The American is one of the most intelligent and respected voices in the world when it comes to mixed martial arts, of that there is no doubt.
The UFC commentator and successful podcast host regularly talks about the current state of affairs in the MMA world, in particular the UFC which is the highest level of MMA competition.
One of the biggest talking points in the UFC right now is the potential Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall clash for the UFC Heavyweight Title in 2025. It seems fans, and UFC President Dana White himself, are craving this fight between the two best heavyweights on the planet.
The pair of heavyweights are expected to fight once and for all next year, with Jon Jones confirming he has no plans to retire now following his latest title defence over Stipe Miocic at UFC 309.
Tom Aspinall hasn’t fought since UFC 304 in July, where he dismantled Curtis Blaydes in Round 1. The Englishman has looked nothing short of spectacular of late, with early stoppage wins over Blaydes, Sergei Pavlovich, Marcin Tybura, Alexander Volkov and Sergey Spivac.
Now, fans are going wild for a heavyweight fight for the ages – Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall. Joe Rogan is one of these people who hopes the fight happens, but does have one question about Aspinall heading into the proposed fight in 2025.
Rogan: ‘What Happens To Aspinall In The Second Round?’
One question that Joe Rogan has about Tom Aspinall is about what he looks like if he goes into the second round. Rogan is simply curious about what happens if the interim belt holder is extended beyond the five-minute mark, following his sensational run of Round 1 knockouts.
The 57-year-old has been incredibly complimentary of the Englishman and has been massively impressed by his run in the UFC, but has questioned how he will cope with a fight against Jon Jones, should it get out of the first round and later into the fight:
“Here’s the question with Aspinall. What happens to Aspinall in the second round?
“If you want to talk about a guy who sprints. If you want to talk about a guy who is fast-twitch, Aspinall might be the fastest heavyweight in the history of the sport.
“I don’t think anybody moves like that guy does. His ability to move the way he moves is so much different to everybody else in the sport,” the American said on his Joe Rogan Experience Podcast.
Although Rogan has been incredibly complimentary of Aspinall, he still finds it hard to bet against Jon Jones. Despite talking up Aspinall’s chances of beating the two-division UFC champion and greatest MMA fighter of all time, the popular podcast simply said he cannot pick against ‘Bones’:
“It’s hard to bet against Jon,” Rogan added.
