Most grandpas are retired, too.
“Retired” actor Joe Pesci will make a rare appearance in the upcoming TV show “Bupkis” about Pete Davidson’s life.
Pesci, 79, will play Davidson’s grandfather in the Peacock series, Variety reported. He joins Edie Falco in the semi-biographical series. Falco will play Davidson’s mother.
The Oscar-winning Pesci said in 1999 that he was retiring from acting. Since then, he’s appeared in three films: “The Good Shepherd,” “Love Ranch” and “The Irishman,” which earned him an Oscar nomination.
This will be Pesci’s first appearance in a TV series since the early 1990s.
“Bupkis” was pitched as “a heightened, fictionalized version of Pete Davidson’s real life, combining grounded storytelling with absurd elements from the unfiltered and completely original worldview for which Pete is well known.” It’s one of several post-”Saturday Night Live” projects for the star comedian and will be executive produced by “SNL” showrunner Lorne Michaels.
