Joe Joyce fights Christian Hammer at Wembley Arena later tonight.
The 2016 Olympic silver medalist is back in action for the first time in almost a year, having now recovered from a serious wrist injury that kept him sidelined.
Joyce’s first assignment upon returning to the ring is a clash with Hammer, who is a massive underdog in his latest battle with a British fighter, having previously taken on the likes of Tyson Fury, Hughie Fury, David Price, Michael Sprott and Danny Williams.
The ‘Juggernaut’ will be eager to lay down a marker on home soil in London having been unable to build any further momentum after his shock stoppage of Daniel Dubois at the end of 2020.
Joyce is defending his WBC silver and WBO international heavyweight titles on Saturday evening and will want to retain his status as the mandatory challenger for the full WBO title currently held by Oleksandr Usyk, who rematches Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia next month.
Some huge nights could await Joyce in future, depending on how the title picture plays out, but first he must take care of business as expected against the massively overmatched Hammer.
Here’s all you need to know about tuning into tonight’s fight...
