Joe Hart's chat with Pep Guardiola that ended his City career
Joe Hart has revealed how he tried to convince Pep Guardiola that he deserved a chance to prove he could remain at City after being told he didn't feature in the new manager's plans.
Hart's City career was ended when Guardiola joined the club in the summer of 2016, with the Catalan prioritising a goalkeeper more comfortable with the ball at his feet. Guardiola signed Claudio Bravo to initially replace Hart, before bringing in current No. 1 Ederson in the summer of 2017.
Hart revealed he felt the writing could be on the wall for him at the Etihad when Guardiola's appointment was confirmed in February 2016 and then returned to pre-season early after that summer's European Championship to discuss his future with the club's new manager.

Kyle Walker's England decision might aid his Man City career
Kyle Walker has been Mr Reliable for club and country virtually his entire career, but his transition out of Gareth Southgate’s starting line-up may aid his longevity at City.
Six months on from Euro 2020 heartbreak against Italy, it’s time for the England manager to go again and assess his squad before the 2022 Qatar World Cup – this time in the winter.
When announcing his selection for this month’s friendlies against Switzerland and the Ivory Coast, Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford were notable omissions, but there was also no room for Walker.
