Leeds United supporters have told Sunderland fans the arrival of 'ridiculously good' Joe Gelhardt will help them with their promotion push. The Black Cats confirmed the arrival of the young striker this afternoon, having seen off a number of Championship clubs for his signature.
The 20-year-old is already a fan favourite at Elland Road, despite featuring sparingly this season. The youngsters' style of play, tenacity and work-rate has established himself on the fringes of the first-team set-up.
The form of Rodrigo, Patrick Bamford's return to fitness and the arrival of Georginio Rutter has seen Gelhardt drop down the pecking order. The youngster remains a key part in the long-term plan at Elland Road, but the next step in his development will take place at the Stadium of Light.
