Joe Fournier claims YouTube star KSI demanded rematch clause in fight contract

Joe Fournier has told fans that YouTube star KSI demanded a rematch clause in the contract for their upcoming fight at the OVO Arena in Wembley.

The 'boxing billionaire' has finally earned a big-name fight after years in boxing when he takes on the UK's biggest social media star on May 13. But promoters have stuck him with a number of intense contractual stipulations, including a tough weight cut and a rematch clause should he get the upset victory.

Fournier began boxing professionally in 2015 after a few white collar bouts following a career in business, and has amassed a 9-0 record with all nine of his wins coming by knockout. He last competed professionally in a farcical 2021 bout with singer Reykon on the undercard of Jake Paul vs Ben Askren, but more recently took on David Haye in an exhibition where he went the distance.

"I think the fact that they have a rematch clause shows how unconfident they are going into this," Fournier said in a video on the Misfits Boxing YouTube channel. "Because I think that I wouldn't want to get punched in the face by me ever. And I think the fact that he is someone who carries this Misfits brand on his shoulders it's way too soon to fight someone like me.

"But the deal is done, there is no going back now. Like Jake Paul found out, when you get into the ring with a real boxer it's a whole different game. I'm not a basketball player, per se, any more. I'm not a wrestler, I'm a guy that punches people unconscious for a living and that is going to be something where KSI is going to get a rude awakening on the night.

"I want you to zoom in on his eyes when he first gets punched to the face. He's going to be like 'holy s***, I'm in for a long, long night'. And I'm going to bludgeon him, there's going to be no let up from my side. I'm going to go out of my way to really, really hurt every single element of his upper body."

Fournier's last fight with a real professional boxer was in December of 2016, over six years ago, when he defeated 1-11 journeyman Antonio Sanchez in Santa Domingo. He has since been focusing on his businesses and living the high-life in Dubai, Tulum and Mykonos as an international playboy.

Meanwhile, KSI has fought three times during his boxing comeback, first taking on both rapper Swarmz and journeyman boxer Luis Pineda in August during a 'two fights in one night' gimmick event'. He has stopped all three of his opponents since returning after a three-year layoff following his split decision win over Logan Paul.
