The Cleveland Browns got a massive boost through the air last season out of veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, and now he has the opportunity to help them out one more time.
Announced today, the Indianapolis Colts have downgraded their quarterback Anthony Richardson to out with a back and foot injury. This means Flacco will get the start for the Colts against the New York Giants.
How can he help out the Browns?
By putting up a dud and allowing the New York Giants, who currently hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, to sneak out a win. It’s a long shot, but crazier things have happened in the NFL.
The Colts are still in the hunt for a wildcard slot, needing some help from the Cincinnati Bengals to beat the Denver Broncos today. If they do, then Flacco has a chance to lead them to the playoffs.
For the sake of the Browns, however, Flacco has a chance to help them climb up the draft board.
