Joe Exotic, revealed that he’s rekindled his romance with his ex-boyfriend after the engagement with his prison fiancé came to an end.
The controversial 59-year-old television star, who is serving a 21-year prison sentence for a murder-for-hire plot and animal rights abuses, has revealed that things are now back on with his ex Seth Posey.
Speaking from prison, the Tiger King star revealed that the pair had “decided to pick up where [they] left off” adding that Posey was “twice the man as the last two in my life.”
The news came shortly after Exotic’s lawyer confirmed that his engagement to fellow inmate John Graham had come to an end when Graham was released from jail in March.
In a voice message recorded from prison and shared on Facebook titled “Update on my love life for curious minds,” Exotic said that the romance with Graham turned out to be “fake.”
He added that he would remain friends with Graham’s son and extended family.
In the two minute statement, Exotic praised his partner for being by his side and explained why they had split up in the first place. The tiger handler - who’s real name is Joe Maldonado-Passage - also had some stern words should the romance turn sour.
“And if it doesn’t work out, all I can say is it’s Carole f***ing Baskin’s fault,” he added as he signed off the recorded message.
Exotic and Posey first got into a relationship while filming for Tiger King 2 was underway.
They had not met in person but spoke often while he served out his prison sentence.“I’ve never met Seth, but we talk 15 times a day, and we have a pretty strong connection,” Exotic explained at the time.
Exotic revealed he had initially split with Posey because he was “young” adding that he “didn’t want another Dillon.” Despite his initial reservations about Posey, it appears that Exotic is willing to give the romance another try.
