He posted a picture of his work with the caption: "Glad to present my little painting “Notions of Upperosity” of the legendary Sean O’Casey to the wonderful Sean O Casey centre in East Wall."
People were bowled over by his talents and jumped into the comments to share their admiration.
One woman wrote: "That's absolutely marvellous!!"
Another thought Joe could be a paid artist: "Wow, that's a great portrait, Joe! You could earn a shilling or two doing commissions if RTE ever throw you out!!"
A third gushed: "Wow! That’s superb Joe, really superb."
Joe previously revealed that he took up painting in 2020 to deal with the stress of Covid-19.
At the time, he said: “It’s what you do, when you have nothing to do that will define this emergency.
“When you’ve nothing to do, why not try something new? I find dabbling with watercolours while listening to an audiobook extremely relaxing.
“You need just one brush, a small set of watercolours and heavy paper. Anyone can paint, just try it.
