Country music fans have rediscovered the late Joe Diffie's hit song 'Ships That Don’t Come In,' leading to its debut on the Billboard charts. The reworking of the track, now featuring Toby Keith and Luke Combs, has garnered attention and sales, with 2,800 copies sold in the latest tracking period.

'Ships That Don’t Come In' has made its mark on two Billboard tallies this week. It enters the Country Digital Song Sales chart at No. 7 and also appears on the all-genre Digital Song Sales chart at No. 16, a notable achievement for a country track.

This success marks Diffie's fifth top 10 hit on the Country Digital Song Sales chart. The song, originally released in 1992, peaked at No. 5 on the Hot Country Songs chart. The remake, part of Hardy’s Hixtape, Vol.3:DIFFTAPE, features covers of Diffie's hits by various country artists.

The collaboration between Diffie, Combs, and Keith stands out as the only debut on the top-selling country songs list this week. While the remake has yet to chart on the Hot Country Songs list, its growing popularity suggests it may achieve that milestone in the near future.

With the ongoing success of 'Ships That Don’t Come In' and the positive reception of Hardy’s tribute album, Diffie's legacy continues to resonate with fans and fellow musicians alike, keeping his music alive and relevant in the country music scene.
