Olivia Holzmacher was quick to console boyfriend Joe Burrow after his Cincinnati Bengals side lost the Super Bowl in the dying minutes of the game.
The Bengals led heading into the fourth quarter of the game, and Burrow was on the cusp of being the first starting quarterback ever to bring the Vince Lombardi Trophy back to Cincinnati.
But there would be a cruel twist of fate, as the Los Angeles Rams produced a 78-yard drive in the final quarter which changed everything.
After one touchdown pass was chalked off, Rams signal-caller Matthew Stafford found another to Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp which gave LA a three-point lead with just 85 seconds to go.
That was enough time for a field goal to force overtime, or perhaps even another touchdown to win the game if Burrow could find the right passes.
But it wasn't to be, as he was sacked by the excellent Aaron Donald and their final chance was gone.
Burrow's girlfriend Holzmacher had been at the SoFi Stadium to cheer on her man, and was spotted in the crowd alongside the Bengals star's mother.
After the game she took to social media to declare her undying support for her man.
"Still beyond proud," she wrote alongside a photo of her leaving the arena.
That last-minute sack was the seventh of the game for Burrow, who despite showing flashed of his brilliant endured a rough day at the office.
He was not given enough protection by his offensive line, and suffered six of those sacks in the second half as the Rams defence seemed to take it in turns to hit him.
One of those hits caused an injury scare after an opponent appeared to fall on his knee.
But despite a scream of agony, initially staying down on the field before hobbling to the sideline, he was able to walk off the pain and continue the game.
It mattered not, though, as he and his team-mates were unable to find the late magic their needed to keep their Super Bowl dream alive.
Despite going through all that, he still found it within himself to play his part in a nice moment of sportsmanship between the game's two quarterbacks after the conclusion of the match.
The pair embraced on the field at full-time with Stafford appearing to have some words of encouragement for Burrow.
Aged 25, the Bengals signal-caller still has plenty of time to achieve the sort of success that he has been tipped to experience in his career.
