Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is the NFL Comeback Player of the Year.
That Burrow’s Bengals have been prepping for Super Bowl LVI against the Los Angeles Rams for nearly two weeks says it all — nobody was more deserving.
Bouncing back from a season-ending knee injury 10 games into his rookie debut, Burrow completed 70.4 percent of his passes with 34 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
Burrow didn’t just get back into the fray — his technique tweaks during rehab led to notable improved arm strength and his mobility in the pocket only got better as the season progressed. He led the Bengals to sweeps over the Ravens, Steelers, Raiders and Chiefs, including the playoffs, where they won the AFC.
Burrow’s the first Bengals player to win it since Jon Kitna in 2003 and was already previously named Pro Football Writers’ Comeback Player of the Year.
