With the NFL Draft coming up, there are multiple quarterback prospects who are ranked highly and expected to be taken early.
Joel Klatt ranked his top five NFL quarterback prospects coming out of college since 2012 based on their outlook and not how they went on to perform in the NFL and both USC’s Caleb Williams and North Carolina’s Drake Maye made the list at No. 1 and No. 4, respectively.
In between those two was Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow at No. 3, with Trevor Lawrence right ahead of him.
After Burrow’s senior season at LSU in which he won the national championship and threw for 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns, he was viewed as a can’t-miss prospect and so far in the NFL that has proven to be true since he has taken the Bengals to two AFC Championships and their first Super Bowl appearance since 1989.
Whether the two quarterbacks in this draft who made Klatt’s list will turn out to be successful in the NFL is yet to be seen, but since the Bengals already landed their can’t-miss quarterback and extended him, they won’t have to worry about taking another one in the draft for a while.
