Joe Burrow Knew It Was Time for a Haircut After Lackluster Week 1 Performance

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow struggled in the team’s season-opening loss against the Browns, just a few days after signing a new contract that made him the highest-paid player in league history.

In Week 1, Burrow failed to even break 100 passing yards on the day, prompting him to make a significant appearance change heading into Cincinnati’s Week 2 tilt against the Ravens.

During his media address on Wednesday, Burrow rolled in with a fresh haircut, telling reporters that he knew he needed to make some type of change after his dud against Cleveland.

“When you have a game like that on Sunday,” said Burrow, when asked how he knew it was time for a new haircut, via Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic.

With his new hairstyle, Burrow will look to make some stark improvements on the field in Week 2, when Cincinnati will be playing at Paycor Stadium for the first time this season.

The last time the 26-year-old failed to record a single passing touchdown in a regular season game was back in November 2021, in Week 9 of that season, also against the Browns. Last Sunday’s game was also the first time he’s failed to break 100 passing yards in a game in his entire career. His previous career low was 148 yards against the Raiders, also in November ’21.
