Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow debuted a new look of sorts last weekend in Arizona, rocking Air Jordan cleats that garnered a bunch of attention.
But Burrow’s refusing to speak on the topic for some reason.
Asked about the new cleats, Burrow hit reporters with a single sentence, twice: “I don’t what you’re talking about.”
Everyone does, of course, considering he wore them in the desert and continues to wear them in practice.
So…is it superstition or perhaps a new brand deal coming up?
Ja’Marr Chase has revealed in the past that Burrow is a pretty superstitious guy, which fans maybe saw a bit of after the slow start to the season when he got a haircut. If that’s what this is, the cleat change sure helped — he won a weekly award for his breakout performance against the Cardinals.
If it’s a brand deal or something else, we’ll just have to wait and see. Burrow never has any problem talking about outfits and stuff — like the cool outfit his friends made for him last weekend — so it’s pretty notable he’s swerving out of questions about this.
