Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is notably bigger this summer and has been very open in talking about it when asked.
When actually asked about the how of the muscle gain that he describes as 10-15 pounds, Burrow revealed the nutrition plan and schedule that includes two dinners.
“I put on 10 or 15 pounds since last season, which I’m hoping helps my body make it through the year. That’s the goal,” Burrow told Mark Lelinwalla of Men’s Health. “It’s all about making sure my body is in tip-top shape, ready to go for Sundays.”
In that interview, Burrow reveals the contents of his meals, calorie counts, and even certain desserts that challenge his fitness goals.
It all aligns nicely with the star quarterback’s main theme of the offseason — better listening to his body and making sure he’s not pushing past discomfort like he has in the past.
Whether Burrow can achieve his goal of being on the field for all 17 games next year remains to be seen, but this newfound emphasis has visible proof fans can already see.
