The Cincinnati Bengals made it to Super Bowl LVI on the back of their superstar second-year quarterback in Joe Burrow but there is one alarming part to the beginning of his career.
While Burrow became the first quarterback to make the Super Bowl within his first two seasons, he’s also taken quite a beating. The subpar play of his offensive line has resulted in him taking 102 sacks already within his first 30 games (including playoffs).
Despite the untapped potential attached to one of the most ice-cold demeanors in the game, the human body can only take so much. Fans and analysts are now left worrying if this physical beating from opposing defenses is something we’ve seen before.
Colts fans certainly have watched this movie. When Andrew Luck came into the league, he amassed 80 sacks during his first 35 games (including playoffs). Burrow topped that with ease and did so missing a good chunk of his rookie campaign due to a torn ACL.
